To define a User Property

  1. In the ClearTrust SecureControl Manager Web UI, click Properties to bring up the Properties interface:
  2. Click the Create button to display the Create Property Name dialog
  3. Enter a name for the property.
  4. From the drop-down Property Type list, select the type of data that the property can contain. Once you save this Property you won't be able to change the type, so choose carefully; allowable types are shown in the following table:

    BOOLEAN

    A true or false value

    Does the User have a Premium membership?
    Is the User a current employee?

    STRING

    A character string

    The User's street address
    The User's nickname

    INT

    An integer

    How many children does the User have?

    FLOAT

    Floating point decimal property

    The User's current account balance
    The User's height in meters

    DATE

    A date

    The date the User will reach full pension benefits
    The date the User was last transferred

  6. Mark the Property Private if you want this property to be accessible to your Administrative group only.
  7. Select Read Only for the Property if you want the field values to be read only.
  8. Select Help Desk if the property will be manipulated by anyone in the Help Desk role.
  9. If you're a Super User and you want to transfer ownership of this Property to an Administrative Group other than the one displayed, you can click the Set button (next to the Administrative Group field) to display the Select Owner dialog box.
  10. Select Exportable if this User Property will be exported.
  11. Include a description of the property as appropriate.
  12. Click Save to save the Property Definition. A Property Definition field corresponding to the property you defined is immediately created for all Users in the system.
