To assign privileges to Administrative Roles

Note: The Super User role is unique in that it's not bound by Administrative Group or Administrative Role permissions; however, when you assign ownership of objects as a Super User, the ownership is still determined by the Administrative Role you selected when you logged on to ClearTrust SecureControl Manager.

For more information about Administrative Role Privileges, see The ClearTrust SecureControl Administrator' s Guide .

  1. If you are not already in the Roles interaction, click on Administrative Groups in the ClearTrust SecureControl Manager Web UI top menu to open the Administrative Groups interaction.
  2. Click on the Roles button next to the name of the Administrative Group which contains the Role to which you want to assign privileges. The Roles interaction will be displayed.
  3. Click on the Users button next to the name of the Administrative Role to which you wish to assign privileges. The Edit an Administrative Group interaction will be displayed.
  4. Select the privileges you want to assign to the role by clicking the appropriate check boxes. The checkboxes are a toggle - clicking on an empty box will add a check mark, while clicking on a checked box will empty it.
  5. Once you are done selecting privileges, click the Set button to apply the changes.
  6. Once the privileges have been set, you can click the Done button to return to Roles dialog, or go on to assign Users to the specified Administrative Group and Role. See To assign Users to Administrative Roles.
